Elliot Ward stepped up and converted an equaliser from the spot in stoppage time last night to give Coventry a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich’s nearest rivals Barnsley.

Had Barnsley won, Norwich would have been 4 points below them, and three points behind fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest with just two games to go.

However, the last gasp goal meant that Barnsley now lead the Canaries by just 2 points. So all is still alive!

Barnsley and Nottingham Forest play this weekend, whilst Norwich entertain Reading on Monday evening. All could de decided come that game, but HOPEFULLY Norwich will go to Charlton the following weekend, with staying-up a realistic possibility.

Ex-Norwich loanee Kevin Lisbie, who earlier in the week promised to the press that his side were going to give Norwich “a good spanking”, was at the centre of things, winning Ipswich’s penalty with the scores at 1-1. Gio Dos Santos converted the kick with only 25 minutes left.

Norwich had took the lead through David Mooney but the scores were tied when Alan Quinn equalised before half time.

The penalty gave Ipswich the lead, Jon Stead made it three one with one minute remaining, before Sammy Clingan scored an injured time spot kick for Norwich.

The 3-2 defeat leaves Norwich 1 point from safety, with only Reading and Charlton to play.

Manager Bryan Gunn was disgusted with the penalty decision and even Ipswich manager Jim Magilton admitted that he didn’t think it was a spot kick.

However, its in the past now and Norwich really have to win there remaining two fixtures.

The next one, 8 days time, at home to Reading.

Left back Ryan Bertrand is doubtful after picking up a knock against Watford, Adam Drury is expected to take his place if he does miss out. David Mooney is also recovering from a slight injury but should be fit to take his place in attack. Long term injury burdens Wes Hoolahan and Carl Cort will not be fit in time for the big game.

Hopefully Bertrand will be fit for the big game.

As for Ipswich, well, who cares about Ipswich! As long as Norwich play as they can do, the points should be coming back to Carrow Road.

However, I do not think Norwich will perform, and am predicting a harsh 2-0 for Ipswich.

2,500 tickets have been sold for the crucial game at Charlton, and another 800 are avalible on Wednesday.

From 9am Wednesday, you wil be able to purchase a ticket from the ticket office at Carrow Road, but be sure to get there on time, as these tickets are like golddust.

A very old school ticket!

I recieved some great news today, I have been succesful in my bid to get a ticket for Charlton v Norwich.

Its sure to be a massive game. The Valley, Charlton already relgated, the last game of the season and it will DETERMINE whether the Canaries stay up or going down to the dreaded depths of third tier English football.

The ticket itself cost £25, which is not too bad. BUT, as i will be travelling from Stoke on Trent for the game, my train ticket is going to cost in the region of £50. £75 to watch Norwich get relegated, I must be mad!

In all seroiusness though, after going to the 2-0 win at home to Watford on Easter Monday, my hopes have risen. Albeit an unrealistic own goal, and a header from the Norwich centre back giving the Canaries a win, they yellows have pushed themselves out of the relegation zone, on goal difference.

With a daunting trip to rivals Ipswich, followed by a home game against Reading the following week, the Charlton game could end up being huge….

The Canaries entertain Watford at Carrow Road on Easter Monday in what is simply a must win game.

Yesterday Norwich travelled to Wales, via aeroplane, but left with a 2-1 defeat against promotion chasers Swansea City. Alan Lee scored City’s goal, his first for the club.

As for Watford, they are a side stuck in mid table with nothing to play for. But so were Sheffield Wednesday, who Norwich lost to 1-0 at Carrow Road last week.

I am going to the game tomorrow, and am praying the yellows can get the result they so badly need. If not, we could be staring relegation in the face at Portman Road next weekend…

It was shambolic. An awful display from the whole team, via Jason Shackell, who looked like he was the only one that could be bothered.

The two loan strikers, Mooney and Gow, certainly have flair, but everything they did came to nothing.

The full backs didnt settle in the whole 90 minutes. And the midfield was simply all over the place.

I worry for Norwich. With only a handful of games left, including a trip to arch-rivals Ipswich, it doesn’ look good.

One point above the drop-zone, and arguably the hardest run-in of the sides around them, it could quite easily be over for the Canaries.

I am going to call it now. I think Norwich will be relegated….

Bryan Hamilton had a mere 6 months at the start of the century before being replaced by Nigel Worthington.

After 6 years at the helm, the Irishman was forced out after a poor run of form and Martin Hunter briefly took over, until Peter Grant was given the job.

Almost a year past before he was sent packing, leaving Jim Duffy a chance to see what he has got. A month later, Glenn Roeder took over but his reign was short lived, and like Worthington was forced out after just over a year.

Bryan Gunn took over temporally, and remains in charge today. But who is your favourite? Who has done the best for the club, and who should have maybe been given more time?

Carl Cort seems to pick up injuries wherever he goes!

Norwich City were struck with the bad news today that striker Carl Cort will be out for the remander for the season.

Cort, 31, has made 13 appearances for the Canaries since joining in January, scoring the one goal.

The striker needs an operation on his foot in order to be fully fit for the start of next seasons campaign.

On the bright side though, manager Bryan Gunn has brought in ex-Ipswich striker Alan Lee on loan from Crystal Palace.

Gunn said on the good and the bad news, “Obviously we’re disappointed not to have him for the rest of the campaign.

“He put his body on the line for the club, and we praise him for that. But bringing in loanee Alan Lee from Crystal Palace will help fill the gap.”
